bela kali is a voice that allows urban spaces and personal layers of consciousness to interact with each other in language and image.

born in nuremberg in 1999, bela now lives and works in Vienna – a city that, in many of her works, becomes a vibrant projection surface for a multi-layered mosaic of emotions.

in her texts, bela kali combines the raw intensity of human emotion with precise, powerful imagery. everyday scenes transform into surreal, often mythologically charged dreamscapes. themes such as loss, transformation, and the fragile balance between order and chaos characterize her works.

her drawings are permeated by expressive physicality, while her paintings depict intimate snapshots of untold stories. a surrealist undertone, which also resonates in her texts, permeates her imagery. this creates visual spaces in which body and psyche blur.

bela kali's goal is to create a space through the overlap of literary and visual arts in which the complexity of human experience becomes tangible.
